I agree with you 100% that people decide for themselves whether a movie is good or not. My comment wasn't based on the film (which I haven't seen), but on the film's rating. Personally, I don't even bother watching movies that didn't receive a decent rating on RottenTomatotes. I don't like wasting my time.

There is no question that Wendell Pierce is a very talented actor. I've never seen a performance of his that I didn't enjoy. However, no actor's individual performance is enough to salvage my enjoyment of a movie that sucks, in my humble opinion.
